The San Francisco 49ers had a tough divisional battle on Sunday.

Despite being favored by 7.5 points before kickoff, they had to fight hard to beat the Los Angeles Rams on the road.

Divisional games are always tricky, but the Rams seem to be a much better team than most people thought before the start of the season, not to mention the fact that Sean McVay knows Kyle Shanahan quite well.

Fortunately for the latter, his team is just stacked with talent, and there was only so much his rivals could do to keep them in check.

TE George Kittle is one of those elite weapons, and he needed just three grabs to make franchise history on Sunday.

According to 49ers on NBC Sports, Kittle has now become the quickest 49ers player ever to reach 400 career receptions.

The star tight end was targeted just three times and finished the game with 30 yards, but his contributions as a blocker were as crucial as his receptions.

Hybrid star Deebo Samuel was the man of the match with six receptions on nine targets for 63 yards, adding five rushes for 38 yards and one score.

Brock Purdy didn’t have a passing touchdown despite completing 17 of 25 passes for 206 yards with no interceptions, but he did add one score on the ground.

The Niners have now put up 30+ points in back-to-back games and sit on an immaculate 2-0 record.

They’ll look to make it three in a row when they host the New York Giants for Thursday Night Football.
