The Cleveland Guardians are lucky enough to call Jose Ramirez their star player.

In what has been a rather unproductive season for the Guardians offense as a whole, Ramirez is logging yet another stellar year.

In 144 games (not counting the early afternoon showdown against the Kansas City Royals), the All-Star infielder is hitting .278/.352/.486 with 24 home runs, 35 doubles, 25 stolen bases, and a .837 OPS.

He reached 26 thefts on Monday afternoon, and that steal helped him make history.

“Career stolen base No. 200 for J-Ram! Active players with 200+ HR and 200+ SB: Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen, Jose Altuve, José Ramírez,” MLB Stats tweeted.

Ever since he broke out in 2016, Ramirez has been one of the league’s premier power-speed guys.

His career-high in homers is 39, and his career-high in stolen bases is 34 (both achieved in 2018).

Over the years, he constantly surpasses 20 homers and 20 thefts year in and year out.

That has allowed him to accumulate 216 dingers and 200 steals; and he is still relatively young at 31 years old.

One would think that if he remains healthy and willing to run, he could reach 300 homers and 250 steals at some point.

For now, he is not worried about totals.

His main goal is to help the Guardians return to the postseason and compete for a title.

It likely won’t be this year, but if Cleveland manages to improve its offense, it could be in the foreseeable future.

There is a lot of work to be done in Cleveland, but as long as J-Ram is healthy, anything is possible.

He is a true difference-maker.
