When you look at the Philadelphia Phillies roster, most people point out the stars.

Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Zack Wheeler, to name a few.

Yet, there is one player who seemingly flies under the radar.

That is outfielder Kyle Schwarber.

He has a unique style of play that fits today’s MLB perfectly.

Schwarber hits for a low average (.197), but he hits a bunch of home runs and walks a ton.

Many people look at Schwarber’s batting average and think he is a bad hitter.

While he may be a bad contact hitter, his ability to get on base makes him invaluable at the top of the Phillies lineup.

But where Schwarber makes his money is with the long ball.

He has blasted 45 home runs this year, and some have been moonshots.

According to MLB Stats, since 2015, Schwarber is the only Phillies player with home runs that have traveled 480+ feet.

One of those homers came on Monday, which helped the Phillies defeat the Atlanta Braves.

Hitting for that kind of power is rare in baseball.

Even though the amount of home runs has gone up, not many players are hitting the ball 480+ feet.

Schwarber has established himself as one of the most consistent power hitters in baseball.

He had 46 home runs last year, and he is at 45 this year with two weeks to go.

The Phillies are hoping to make another World Series run in October.

Having Schwarber in the lineup will play an important role in that.
